[ There was a slight delay in their plans. With all the strangeness going on, he'd been lucky to find Yugi and get them a camping spot in time on that first night. After another bout of strangeness this morning...it seemed to be all right for now, and they could finally have a relaxing day.

Seto had donned his blue yukata for the walk up the mountain path, smiling at Yugi as he went to greet him. ]

Ready? I think we're through with the interruptions.

[This world was really something. First night with the weridness was one thing, but the second day and...whatever that was was something else. It did mean that things had been delayed for obvious reasons, but it seemed now tonight was at least behaving, so he figured toinight was the night at least to spend some time with just him and Seto.

Deciding to dawn a dark blue yukata he stood there quietly waiting, a small smile brightening up when he saw the other.]

I'm ready and I hope so... not sure I could handle anymore or else I would think someone was doing it on purpose or something.

They could be...mm, but I hope we've seen the last of it. This morning's incident was unsettling.

[ Kaiba is mostly silent as they walk to the place, then as they seek out an empty spring. He's looking for some place up high, preferably. Finally, he finds one with a nice view and a shower and changing room off to the side.. ]

Agreed. But I get the feling it might not be. At least until we finally move on anyway.

[He walked next to him, thoughts going through his head from time to time. He knew what not to say at least for the sake of the other person. But soon he was out of his thoughts and looking around.]

This looks perfect. I don't think anyone will come here... I hope anyway.

If they do, I'll scare them off. And you can do whatever you need to be comfortable.

[ Seto nodded resolutely at him before dipping into the shower. He was a little nervous about being this open around Yugi...but there was no one else he'd rather be with.

He walked back out with a towel loosely held around himself, dropped it on the rocks, and eased his way in. ]

...mm, not bad.

[He laughed slightly, making sure that he used the shower first of course and taking his time while doing it.]

At least right now it's just you, so I am already comfortable.

[There were few exceptions to who he might not be at all comfortable around, but at least for now it was just the two of them. Once he was done with the shower and the towel was secure he moved to the edge of the hot spring and dipped his hand in.]

Huh, your right it doesn't feel too bad. [He soon made sure the towel was to the side but still close at hand behind finally going in.]

It's been a long time since I've been to something like this.

[ It was a cozy space. Large enough for the two of them to fit comfortably, but not much bigger than that. He closed his eyes and relaxed as Yugi slipped in, then smiled softly at him. ]

I never went. Many businessmen prefer to make deals in this environment, but I refused. I didn't trust my business partners that much.

[ He rolled his head and shoulders back, easing the tension there. Mm, that felt good. ]

How was your second day?

[Yugi leaned back slightly, looking over.]

Wait, businessman really made deals in places like this? [He was admittedly surprised to say the least.]

Second Day was... something... Ended up in a cave. Yours?

Mm. The sauna too. They believed the setting made people more honest. But I wanted no part of it.

[ His eyebrow arched as he looked over at Yugi. ]

Same. I saw another memory...and we had to talk about it. Della thinks we're supposed to help each other recover from something...

[ He doesn't know what he believes yet. He's oddly quiet. ]

In a werid way... that makes sense. I mean you are usually exposed to a certain extent in both situations. [So he understood the meaning behind, but he couldn't actually say if people would be honest when that exposed.]

Same here...Though... I'm not honestly sure... what I would need to recover from honestly.

[The memories he got he was being quiet about also, but he could hazard a guess what they needed help with, but him? He knew really there wasn't much.]

Unless it's an underlying thing... But who knows. Maybe before we leave we'll figure it out. But for now we are here to relax, or try.

You're the expert at helping people. How many times did you try to get through to me before I listened?

[ He shifts closer to Yugi, extending a hand and gently poking his shoulder. ]

I did sleep well last night...mm. I'd much rather sleep near you than the lunatic who destroyed my bunk.

[ Is that weird flirting? It...might be. ]

I...lost count.

[Was he joking? He knows, but he did seem to make it sound like a little tease. But soon the teasing is over and a small blush appearing on his face, but it could also just be from the heat.]

I mean...That's nice to hear though sorry that your bunk got destroyed.

You have more patience than I deserve.

[ He sinks further in, up to his neck, and draws his knees up. ]

It's fine. I'm amazed by how few enemies I've made up until this point. There had to be one.

[He sinks further for a moment, before moving in slightly closer to the other.]

But maybe finding someone with patience was what you needed.

[He soon looked on at the water quietly, watching the steam rise up.]

I guess so... There is always going to be someone who doesn't like you. Like I am sure there is someone out there who might not like me.

I'm used to being the enemy of most of the world. Having so many...close is the weirdest part.

If someone would dare to say that about you, they're likely someone like I used to be. Who likes to look down on others for caring. But I know I was wrong, at least partially.

[ The closeness is nice. That supersedes his embarrassment, at least. ]

Letting yourself feel things openly is its own strength. Risking vulnerability to forge a stronger bond...it's harder than shutting off, in a way. You showed me how.

I'm sure you'll get used to having so many people close to you.


Not necessarily. It's also possible that the way I am just and can rub people the wrong way and it's not necessarily because they are looking down on others. I understand that I can't be friends with everyone because of it and that is perfectly fine.

[He leaned over slightly resting his head on the other.]

I'm glad that you are doing that. Even since we got here you've gone through quite a change compared to back home.

It's a lot harder to be the detached elite without money, the weight of a corporation, or a tower fortress.

[ Yugi settled on his shoulder, and he smiled, draping a loose arm around him to keep him there. ]

Just remember that even as cramped as the train is, you're the one who chooses who gets close to you. And I chose you.

You are right about that and there are various kinds of close. Like I have plenty of people I'm close to in a way of friends. [Some are closer than others as he gets to know them, but they are still there and he lets them in when necessary.]

You're the only one who I choose to be close to in ways like this.

on the jungle mission

Later that night, after they avert the end of the world, Seto seeks Yugi out. It's usually not hard to find him, luckily...

As soon as he does, he moves in to take his hand.

"...Yugi."

Yugi had been thinking over a few things, but soon snapped out of it when he felt someone take his hand.

"Hey... Today was certain something, huh?"

I know we're a strong group, it's just...

[ He starts back toward the fire, clearly wanting to sit with Yugi. ]

I realized I haven't been giving you enough attention lately. How are you doing?

We are and we proved that today.

[Which he was honestly happy with. Things could have ended badly. Walking next to the other he soon went to sit down.]

I'm doing fine. I've been doing my best to help out when I can at least. How are you doing?

We made it. I've met a few new engineers, and we pulled the shields up in time. That's all that matters.

[ He gently reels Yugi into his side, glad to have him close by this time even if they're on different tasks. ]

Did you herd any pandas? You'd definitely be good at that.

That is. If you and the others hadn't... [He shook his head, he didn't want to think about it honestly.]

I kind of lost count of the number I herded...though it was also a big task to actually get them moving. They just really didn't want to.

[ Kaiba laughs a little, picturing the sight. It's a much more pleasant thought than the fear that had gripped him earlier. ]

I thought they'd definitely follow you. You're a good leader.

[ And then, that said, he curls tighter around Yugi, idly kissing the top of his head. ]

But don't worry. I'm never going to stop fighting. You all mean too much to me now, as much as I hate that fact...

...well, except you. I'd never regret you.
